Pursue Daily growth

I’ve been asked several times over the past couple of months what advice I would give to new firefighters. The more I thought about it the more clear my answer became.

Never lose the drive to learn and grow every day!

New firefighters are hungry for knowledge and experience but for many that hunger starts to vanish as their career progresses. When this happens it’s almost a sure bet that what follows is complacency, bad attitudes, entitlement, and a jaded mindset.

Let’s avoid all that by adopting a daily growth mindset. That’s how we get better as individuals, as crews, and as a fire service.
