Lead while you’re there

It’s easy for us sometimes to focus too much on the next promotion or the next stepping stone and in doing so we lose focus on just enjoying being where we’re at. I think a lot of that is human nature, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to be more intentional about enjoying the moment both at work and at home.

We might not be where we want to end up or where we feel like we should be but don’t let that take away from all the things that we could be enjoying where we are.

I’m a firm believer in there is always a reason and more times than not it’s a reason that I know nothing about. I’m on a path that was chosen for me, I just need to enjoy the ride and do as much good as I can while I’m on it. Easier said than done I admit but it is a comforting feeling know. If you didn’t get that promotion or that transfer you were hoping for, maybe it’s because there’s more you need to do where you’re at.

Not to get too deep but it’s definitely something I always have to remind myself of. I’m thankful for the opportunities, and for the challenges and hope each day to enjoy the moment more and to do the best I can in those moments.
