Closed Doors
The closed door - possibly one of life’s most disappointing and crushing metaphors. But why is that? Is it founded on facts as in when a door closes on you that’s it, end of story? Or is it founded on lies that we’ve been told over and over and have begun to believe them?
In our profession we should know better than to believe that when a door is shut that that’s the end of the line, that just means we get to pull out the tools and let the Haligan go to work. Don’t believe the lie, if you want in that door then maybe it’s time to start forcing. Don’t except the word no.
Here’s another thought. Maybe that door is shut for a reason, maybe there’s a better option for you to take. If we encounter a heavily fortified door is it worth the time and energy it’s going to take to break through or take a step back to look around and find an easier door? Now don’t take all of this too literal but it’s something to think about. If a door shuts on you that you want so badly that you’ll spend all your time and energy trying to claw it open it might be because that time and energy should be put in another area. Don’t miss better opportunities because we’re focused on the wrong target.
Some times doors of opportunity close on us and that can be disappointing but there’s always more doors and you never know when a closed door can be a blessing in disguise that leads you to a better opportunity that you wouldn’t have had.
Keep your eyes open, and keep fighting for what’s right. Just don’t do it blindly.
STAY HUMBLE AND DO WORK!!
